Adding shims to your hydrofoil may help in a number of situations:
- Looking for better balance
- Looking to improve speed / reduce drag
This listing contains 2 shims for the Axis hydrofoil. This is compatible with the black and red fuselages.
- 1 shim for 0.25 degree
- 1 shim for 0.5 degree
- 1 shim for 1 degree
This shim accomplishes what's known as "negative shimming", which reduces the angle between the front wing and stabilizer. See one of the pictures in this listing for what this shim does and its effects.
This allows for shimming between 0.25 and 1.75, as you can stack shims You will need to experiment and see what's best for you. I personally use 0.5 degree, at 84kg and wingfoiling.
I designed these shims for my own use as a wingfoiler, as this achieves better precision when compared to using credit cards or pieces of aluminum cans.
Note that this is a 3D printed part, and some minor imperfections may exist.
